Smockie

I have been a bad blogger and I have not knitted that much the last few days.
Smockie is finished.
The pattern is from Sublime and it is available for free.
I used three balls of Rowan Purelife yarn to knit size 9-12 months.
I altered the pattern a little and did a crochet picot edging all around the necklines and armholes.
My local yarn shop has the little flower mother of pearl buttons.

Smockie was a great little in between knit.
Looks great on my little model. Even though it is too big for her.
We have sent Smockie across the pond for a friends baby who was born this January.

Alpine Roses

St. Moritz is looking a lot more like a jumper now. One sleeve is finished and the back and front have only got 16 rows left. I am showing the back here, the front looks funny with the steeking stitches for the neckline and the half finished Alpine Rose. The bottom half will be Swiss darned on. I may have knitted the bulk of this by now but there is going to be a lot of finishing. So far all the ends are still dangling, not to mention the cutting.
So far I have greatly enjoyed knitting this. I can't believe how fast it has gone and how much fun I had. It is not a knit to take along though.

For that I have little Smockie here.
The back is done. Now the same again for the front.
I like knitting with the Rowan Purelife yarn even if it keeps splitting.
The piece feels soft and light. I hope Rowan will bring out a pattern book for small children with this yarn. Or I should start making my own pattern(s).
I have enough inspiration.

Iced Gem

Tasty knit is finished, Iced Gem was a great knit and a fast one.
The iced gem's have been eaten too.
I knitted this in size 6-9 month. It took 3 1/2 balls of yarn and two star buttons I had in my button box.
It is a very good fit on my little darling. We have finally figured out the cause of her eczema. It was dairy and the teething powder she's been having.
On the weekend I had run off knitting on the go. I came across this cute free pattern.
I got myself four balls of purelife yarn to knit with.
I did finish one sleeve for my St. Moritz. Hopefully I will get ahead on the body next weekend.
I lost my mojo for Jude a little. I want to knit all the borders first and then figure out how to lenghten the sleeve pattern. I don't like very short sleeves.

March Mystery

Tha March mystery for the Mystery Blanket has been solved. There was a lot of stripes this month and the little farmhouse.
I think we now have all the colours and yarntypes. But then again I could be wrong. So far I have 17 different colours in three types of yarn.
The farmhouse not only involved so many different colours but also 3 colours of beads.
It reminded me again how much I love knitting with beads. I have a child who likes to thread beads onto yarn.

These are all 15 squares I have knitted so far. They represent the two bottom corners of the blanket. Only 34 more squares to knit.
The blanket has been packed away for the rest of March. Time for me to concentrate on my other projects. I seem to have caught the startitis bug. Besides the blanket I have two projects for myself and two for Miss T. on the go.

A little Gem

Remember when Miss T was born and I went out and bought all the yarn to knit Snapdragon for myself.
Well, that project has been abandoned a long time ago. I have since knitted Jasmine for Noor and Viola for myself.
There were still 4 1/2 balls of Kashmir Aran in pale blue left over.
Enough to knit Iced Gem for Miss T.
A nice knit between my other projects.
The back and the two fronts took no time to knit.
The sleeves have a nice detail to them.
I am knitting size 6-12 months. She will be 8 months tomorrow. I am sure it will be ready to wear in a few days.

Skiing and the March Mystery

Here is today state of my St. Moritz skiing jumper. I am showing the back center with the center flower. I love how row after row the pattern comes together.
I do have decided to change the collar. I don't like any of the two options. Just hope that it is the right decision.

Last week saw the arrival of the March package for the Mystery Blanket. Four more balls of yarn and loads of beads. I have knitted already two March squares, they are old friends.
Here in the UK it is Mothering Sunday and I may knit square number three.
I told my kids it is wear your handknits day as well!
I just made that up!
Here is Miss T. in her Wool/Cotton dress. I got her leggings to wear under the dress. She loves taking her socks off and tights annoy her to much. She needs to be barefoot to practise walking.
I have to do something else about the ribbon. She pulls it as soon as I make her the bow.
