Squares for Japan

A few days ago, I came across this blog written by Amii.
Her and other knitters are knitting squares to make blankets for Japan.
The knitters have also started a group called
Homemade Hugs over on Facebook.
So far I have knitted three squares and have the yarn ready for a fourth.
The green and red are knit with Rowan Pure Wool DK and the blue is with Noro Silk Garden.
It's also a great way to use up single balls of yarn.
Maybe I should call it Stashbusting for Japan.

that's a great idea, it's going to take the Japanese a while to rebuild and I'm sure they will with their customary dignity, but in the meantime they need warmth and comfort too.

I love Japan and the culture! I've accidentally stop by that blog and I'm glad I did. How sweet of you to do this!
