This is my July project for 12in2011, even though Martha should have been finished for May!
The pattern Martha is from Rowan 37. I have had this in m mind since I first saw it way back in 2005.My friend Johanne has knitted herself one, the version with the eyelet holes. I have always wanted to knit the beaded version.
I bought the yarn sometime in 2006. It was on special offer, I had also bought thousands of Rowan beads.
I even blogged about Martha way back in 2006.
I did make some changes to the pattern, I made the body about 2-3cm longer and I made the sleeves full length.
I have also changed the neckline, one of my friends noticed in the Rowan photos that the neckline seemed very big, I have recalculated the entire neckline. I am very happy with the result.
I have enough yarn left over, oh and enough beads to knit a mini Martha for Miss T.
Of course that would mean to calculate a whole new pattern.
